Ježíšek’s Path

(Ježíšek – the Baby Jesus is the Czech equivalent of Santa Clause who brings presents to children at Christmas.)

As the Czech legend has it, there is only one place where you can meet the blond Ježíšek all year long, even in the middle of hot summer, together with also the little bat called Pírko, with Hvězdulka, Strákoš, and other Ježíšek’s helpers. You have guessed correctly – it is at Boží Dar, where the popular Ježíšek’s Path was opened in December 2007.

It is a pleasant stroll through the Boží Dar countryside for adults and an adventure trip full of surprises for children. You can choose from two circuits of different lengths: for the smallest ones it is the so-called Short Ježíšek’s Path 5.6 km long, more experienced hikers can try the Long Ježíšek’s Path 12.9 km long. Both circuits start at the local information centre, where you can pick up Ježíšek’s notepad. In it, children will write down their responses to the tasks that await them at cute stops with roofs over the entire journey.

Most stops are also equipped with small attractions, such as various climbing frames, slides, beams or swings. When you arrive at your destination, i.e. again at the information centre, show your completed notepad to the person working there. As a reward, you will receive Ježíšek’s stamp and a small surprise. You do not have to walk only, the route is ideal for a nice bike ride. In winter, Ježíšek’s Path is adjusted as a cross-country trail – it is one of the most popular Boží Dar cross-country trails, which can be managed even by inexperienced skiers.
